American Horror Story: Season 3, Ep 7

The Dead

Now that Madison is alive, in a manner of speaking, but can't remember how she died, Zoe is going to try to find out just what happened, straight from the horse's mouth. Fiona's hair had started to fall out last episode too, after her round of chemo but nothing in her power can prevent this from worsening, save from discovering just who the new Supreme is and ending her life and taking her power. So far, we can only guess at which young witch is the supreme but there are just too many red herrings to make a realistic guess. I'd go with Zoe but it could really be any one of them.

We begin with a healthy Kyle, along with his college pals in a tattoo parlor where they're each getting small designs done on their bodies; all except Kyle. He tells the group he wants to be an engineer to ensure that the likes of Katrina can never happen to New Orleans again. One of his buddies is showing off a small four-leaf clover on his forearm, and we then see that Kyle has the same clover and his friend's arm attached to his body, which is upsetting the chained up, back-from-the-dead Kyle. Zoe has brought a gun with her to kill Kyle but can't go through with it. I don't think this would kill him anyway.

Madison is feeling sorry for herself because since being brought back from death herself, she's unable to feel anything, both emotionally or physically. She casually burns her hand till it blisters with no effect or feeling. Madison has also taken every potion she could get her hands on, then moves to the kitchen where she practically eats everything she finds. It looks like were actually seeing how she's always felt anyway, only now it's more acute.

Queenie and Delphine appear to be becoming friends with Delphine learning to become a more tolerant person. She's growing fond of Queenie but things are about to go very bad for Delphine. Queenie asks Delphine about the worst thing she'd ever done. It turns out Delphine murdered the new-born baby, born of the slave her husband was sleeping with, in order to make her bloody face potion. Delphine explains that she knows it was wrong but those were different times. Queenie goes to see Marie where she's made to feel welcome, but Marie wants Queenie to deliver Delphine, so Queenie can join her voodoo group, but it looks as though Marie isn't much better than Delphine.

Cordelia has found out Fiona killed Madison and decides to set a plan into motion to kill her mother with the help of Zoe. Meanwhile Madison is connecting with Kyle because they both have been risen from the dead and she takes advantage of this fact by having sex with him. Zoe catches then in the act but says nothing until it's brought up later by Madison, who persuades Zoe to join in a triolisme, telling her she can't kill Kyle anymore by having sex. This obviously applies to Madison as well. There goes Zoe's innocence!

Fiona is going through a rough time with her losing her hair and her power but she can't do anything about it unless she can discover who the new supreme is and kill her. She ends up spending some time with The Axeman where she has sex that causes the lights to explode. She eventually learns just who this man really is and how he's always been part of her life.

Another solid episode of American Horror Story, Coven, with some decent surprises, especially where Zoe gets Spaldings tongue reattached so we can finally hear him speak again. I think this is only the second time this season where he's spoken, with the only other, just before he cut it out before Myrtle Snow could question him. Myrtle was raised from the dead at the end of the last episode by Misty Day; both of whom are absent from this one but I'm certain we'll see some fireworks as a result of this, plus the fact that Spalding's enchanted tongue is now back where it belongs and he cant tell lies because of something Myrtle had done years before.

We have to wait two whole weeks to find out what will happen next, but the trailer looks very exciting and is attached to this review.
