By: Todd Betzold

Disney is going back in time with the help of Tim Burton, as a live-action remake of Dumbo will be hitting theaters in 2019. To get audiences ready for the big event, they released the first teaser trailer for Dumbo, which can be seen below!

Dumbo, originally done by Disney as an animated movie in 1941, is a tale of family, loss, a struggling circus and a unique baby elephant that happens to bring hope and inspiration to everyone he meets.

Colin Farrell will star in the live-action movie as Holt Farrier, a former horse showman who returns from the war a widower to his two children and a circus that is struggling to survive. The owner of the circus is Max Medici (played by Danny DeVito) then buys a pregnant elephant and that is how Dumbo enters their lives.

In this first teaser trailer, we see Holt and his two kids Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) meeting Dumbo, a look at a pink elephant balloon and, of course, Dumbo flying through the circus crowd, big ears and all! The trailer is accompanied by a new rendition of the classic film’s Oscar-nominated song Baby Mine, sung by Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora.

Michael Keaton also stars in Dumbo, as he plays the antagonist in this movie, V.A. Vandevere. He is the owner of a successful attraction named Dreamland and his attention is piqued by the word of a flying elephant. He talked with Entertainment Weekly about Dumbo transcending over time, as he said “there’s a real elemental thing about family and what it means, and what it means to be a part of something.”
