'Mary Poppins Returns' Trailer: Emily Blunt Brings The Magic Back

We have been teased with Mary Poppins Returns before, but now Disney has released the first full trailer for Mary Poppins Returns starring Emily Blunt. This is the first look at the movie's musical sequences, which like the 1964 original, feature a mix between live action and animation. We have the full Mary Poppins Returns trailer below.

This is the sequel that has been 54 years in the making. For Mary Poppins Returns, the Banks family children, Jane and Michael (Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw) are re-introduced. They are now all grown up and have kids of their own. However, tragedy strikes and it looks like that means the return of Mary Poppins (Blunt). She is back to help them get their priorities back on track.

While original star Julie Andrews declined to appear in the new movie, it looks like Dick Van Dyke, 92, her costar, does have a small role in the movie. That is known, as you can see it in the trailer. The cast also includes Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack the lamplighter, Meryl Streep as Mary’s cousin Topsy, Colin Firth as Michael’s boss, and Angela Lansbury as the Balloon Woman. The film is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago) and written by David Magee (Finding Neverland).
