'Serenity' Trailer: Matthew McConaughey And Anne Hathaway Are Back Together

When Serenity hits theaters in 2019, it won't be the first time that Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway will share the big screen together. The Oscar winners starred in Christopher Nolan's Insterstellar together back in 2014. The duo are back together and it looks like they left space for this thrille, as we have the Serenity trailer below!

While we don't fully learn everything about the plot of this movie, we definitely realize that some intense stuff is going to be happening. Here is the official synopsis for Serenity:

From the creative mind of Oscar nominee Steven Knight comes a daringly original, sexy, stylized thriller. Baker Dill (Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey) is a fishing boat captain leading tours off a tranquil, tropical enclave called Plymouth Island. His quiet life is shattered, however, when his ex-wife Karen (Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway) tracks him down with a desperate plea for help. She begs Dill to save her – and their young son – from her new, violent husband (Jason Clarke) by taking him out to sea on a fishing excursion, only to throw him to the sharks and leave him for dead. Karen’s appearance thrusts Dill back into a life he’d tried to forget, and as he struggles between right and wrong, his world is plunged into a new reality that may not be all that it seems.

From the looks of the trailer, it seems like Karen is a bad influence for Baker and they had a very toxic relationship before their divorce. He tried to get away from her and build a new life for himself, but she has tracked him down and he might be headed down that dangerous path again thanks to her.
