The first teaser trailer for the live-action remake of The Lion King has been released and it's breaking records for Disney. Taylor Swift has nothing on Mufasa, which must have Disney executives very excited. Check out The Lion King teaser trailer below!
Of course, Jon Favreau is bringing us his live-action take on The Lion King, which he previously did for Disney with The Jungle Book. There has been some mixed reaction from this first trailer, as people aren't getting the live-action concept of the movie. Maybe they had to rewatch it a few times to understand? Within the first 24 hours of it's release, the trailer was viewed 224.6 million times online!
In the trailer, you hear Mufasa, voiced by James Earl Jones again, say, "One day, the sun will set on my time here. And will rise with you as the new king.” Of course, he is talking to his young son, Simba (voiced by Donald Glover). Other celebrities lending their voices to the movie include Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, John Oliver as Zazu, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.
